An Indoor Arena: The Gold Standard for you and your horses
Do you dream of having your own indoor riding arena? You, your pupils and your horses can all share the benefits. Best of all, a steel shed construction is durable, quick to erect, isn’t as costly as you might imagine, and allows you to create a spacious indoor area with few supports to get in the way. But just how will it benefit you and your horse?
- Eliminate distractions. Your horse learns faster when there aren’t a hundred and one distractions in the immediate environment. And if a horse is prone to skittishness, you can eliminate the things that might spook it, keeping horse and rider safer.
- An easily modifiable space for riding schools. Training horses and their riders can be tricky, especially when the rider is at fault. You can see what they’re doing wrong, but can they? It’s easy to install dressage mirrors that will allow riders to check their form.
- A firm footing. This is probably one the greatest advantages you can get from an indoor space. The surface can be prepared in a way that reduces the chance of injuries to the horse during training. And with the chance of falls being reduced, riders are safer too.
- Who cares about the weather? Quite often, it’s trainers that get the worst the weather has to throw at them, all day, every day. With a roof over your head, you don’t have to worry about disruptions caused by rough weather, and a little shade is a mercy on a blisteringly hot day.
- No need to wait till the dust settles. Nobody likes getting covered in ingrained dust, and an arena with properly prepared flooring eliminates that problem altogether.
- Ride safely – even at night. Many people who would otherwise love riding simply don’t have enough daylight hours available to do so. Add some lights, and your indoor riding arena is ready for action no matter what time of day or night it is.
- Let friends and family watch. Install a few benches or a simple stand, and friends and family members can enjoy watching riders in training.
Horse arenas from a construction perspective
Although we love all things related to agriculture and the countryside, we’re not experts on training horses and their riders. However, what we do know is how to build a durable structure that will look new and classy for many years. And while your arena remains a substantial investment, we can assure you of a durable structure that’s made to tolerate local conditions for many years to come.
